What qualified participants did

  1. Made more than 5 Starknet transactions before 15 November 2023, over at least 3 months, with at least $100 volume and 0.005 ETH held on that date.
  2. Alternatively qualified as a StarkEx user with at least 8 transactions before 1 June 2022.
  3. Or qualified as a developer, EIP author, Protocol Guild member or Ethereum staker under the criteria published for each group.
  4. Connected a current Starknet wallet to the official portal at provisions.starknet.io once claiming opened on 20 February 2024.
  5. Claimed before the 20 June 2024 deadline, after which unclaimed tokens returned to the pool for future rounds.

Where things stand

The Starknet Provisions airdrop is closed. Claiming opened at 12:00 UTC on 20 February 2024 and the deadline was 20 June 2024. The Foundation blog post that introduced the program now states that Provisions has been discontinued, so the eligibility and claim details on that page are historical.

The Foundation set aside 1.8 billion STRK, 18% of supply, for the community, and 900 million of it for Provisions. The first round covered more than 700 million STRK for nearly 1.3 million addresses, and the FAQ puts the first round at 726 million. How the remainder of the Provisions amount would be distributed was left open, and the FAQ only says that plans for later distributions will be announced in due course. We found no announcement of a new airdrop round.

The Foundation has run separate incentive programs since then. BTCFi Season, introduced on 30 September 2025 with a 100 million STRK budget, pays rewards for eligible activity through participating protocols and is described by the Foundation as an incentive program rather than an airdrop. We could not confirm from official pages whether it is still running today, so check the Starknet blog before acting on it.

How eligibility worked

Provisions was built from several groups, each with its own published rules. Starknet users needed more than 5 transactions before 15 November 2023, activity across at least three months, at least $100 of transaction volume, and at least 0.005 ETH held on the snapshot day. Starknet developers needed at least 3 commits to a Starknet-ecosystem GitHub repository, with at least one between 1 January 2018 and 15 November 2023. Early community members came through an Early Community Member Program that required approval.

The program also reached beyond Starknet itself. StarkEx users needed at least 8 transactions before 1 June 2022. Ethereum Protocol Guild members, Ethereum developers, EIP and ERC authors and developers of the 5,000 most-starred open-source GitHub projects could qualify under commit or authorship rules. Ethereum stakers who staked up to the Merge on 15 September 2022 formed another group, split into solo stakers, labeled pooled or custodial stakers and unlabeled ones, with a cap of 12 validators per address.

The page we reviewed does not describe a Sybil-detection method, so we do not state one. What it does show is that thresholds did part of the filtering: a multi-month activity requirement, a volume minimum, a minimum ETH balance and validator caps all make bulk farming more costly. The Foundation also excluded people and entities in Russia, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria and other sanctioned countries, those on sanctions lists, and U.S. persons.

  • Users: more than 5 transactions, 3+ months active, $100+ volume, 0.005 ETH on 15 November 2023.
  • StarkEx users: at least 8 transactions before 1 June 2022.
  • Developers: at least 3 commits, one between 1 January 2018 and 15 November 2023.
  • ETH stakers: staked up to the Merge, 12 validators maximum per address.

Security notes

The Foundation warned participants to use the exact portal URL, provisions.starknet.io, and to be careful about scams. Claiming required a current Starknet wallet, and the Foundation covered claim fees only when the claim went through that official portal. Any site that asks for a seed phrase, a private key or a payment before releasing tokens is a clone.

Airdrop periods draw copycat sites and fake support accounts. Before connecting a wallet, type the address yourself or reach it from the Starknet website, and never approve a transaction you do not understand. The expired deadline also removes any reason to click a "claim now" link today.

What to take from this drop

Provisions rewarded a mix of Starknet usage, developer work and contributions to Ethereum itself, so many recipients qualified without chasing a points system. The most useful lesson is that official documents named concrete thresholds and snapshot dates in advance, which made it possible to check your own history instead of guessing.

Unclaimed tokens returned to the pool for later rounds, and the Foundation has kept the right to decide how that pool is used. That means there is no entitlement waiting for past participants. Anyone interested in future STRK programs should follow the Starknet Foundation blog and FAQ rather than third-party airdrop trackers, including this one.
