Scroll airdropSCR

Scroll first airdrop (7% of SCR supply) used Marks from the Sessions program with an October 2024 snapshot; the 90-day claim closed on 20 January 2025.

Verified 19 Oct 2026 against 4 primary sources

What qualified participants did

  1. Earned at least 200 Marks through onchain activity in the Scroll Sessions program by the snapshot on 19 October 2024 (00:00 UTC).
  2. Optionally held Canvas badges, which added a Marks booster of 25 to 60 depending on badge count.
  3. Qualified for the Onchain Bonus by holding a top-level ENS name, donating to Gitcoin or Juicebox, or using a smart contract wallet on Scroll as of 1 August 2024.
  4. Contributors outside the community drop (ecosystem projects, researchers, organizers, hackathon winners) were allocated by Scroll under published categories.
  5. Claimed at claim.scroll.io within 90 days of claiming opening on 22 October 2024.

Where things stand

Scroll first airdrop is finished. Claiming opened on 22 October 2024 at 07:00 UTC for 90 days, and the official claim page now states that the claim is closed, giving 20 January 2025 as the end date. The token launch date, and the date claims became available, was 22 October 2024 according to the SCR token announcement.

The first airdrop used 7% of the 1 billion SCR supply. The same announcement sets the airdrop allocation at 15% in total and earmarks the remaining 8% for future airdrops, with 4% unlocked in April 2025 and 4% in October 2025. It adds that the precise distribution dates would be announced later. The Scroll blog index we reviewed, which runs through February 2026, contains no post announcing a second airdrop, so we classify the project as ended rather than potential.

Scroll has published other incentive posts since then, for example a points program for the USX stablecoin dated 27 October 2025. That program belongs to USX and states that USX has no governance token, so it should not be read as a new Scroll airdrop.

How eligibility worked

The largest share was the Community Drop, 55 million SCR (5.5% of supply), for onchain activity tracked through Sessions. Of that, 40 million SCR was shared in proportion to Marks among addresses with at least 200 Marks at the snapshot. A further 10 million SCR was a Flat Boost split equally among all eligible participants, so smaller participants still received a meaningful amount, and 5 million SCR was an Onchain Bonus split among those who met one of four criteria as of 1 August 2024.

Those bonus criteria were holding a top-level ENS name on Ethereum mainnet, donating more than $0.01 to any Gitcoin grant, donating to a Juicebox campaign, or using a smart contract wallet on Scroll. They reward behavior that is harder to fake at scale than a transaction count. Canvas badge holders also received a Marks booster of 25, 40, 50 or 60 depending on the number of badges, which helped some users reach the 200 Marks floor.

Other categories were not based on activity at all. Over 100 ecosystem projects shared 6,977,000 SCR based on total value locked and native integration at the snapshot. Industry contributors such as open-source developers, ZK researchers and public goods organizations, and global community members such as organizers, hackathon winners and translators, received fixed amounts. The blog post we reviewed does not describe a separate Sybil-detection method, so we do not claim one; the 200 Marks floor and the Marks accounting itself were the main filters it describes.

  • Community Drop: 55,000,000 SCR (5.5% of supply).
  • Marks threshold: 200 or more at 19 October 2024, 00:00 UTC.
  • Onchain Bonus: 5,000,000 SCR, based on four criteria as of 1 August 2024.
  • Ecosystem projects: 6,977,000 SCR across more than 100 projects.

Security notes

Scroll states that its airdrop terms identify a single claim site, claim.scroll.io. Any other domain offering SCR, including pages reached through social media replies or direct messages, is not the official claim. Never share a seed phrase or sign a transaction you cannot read, because a real claim never needs either.

With the window now closed, any message urging you to "claim before it ends" is a warning sign. Verify every Scroll link by navigating from scroll.io itself.

What to take from this drop

The Scroll drop combined an activity floor with an equal-share boost, which narrowed the gap between small and large participants. It also counted some behavior beyond transactions, such as public goods donations and smart contract wallet use. Participants who understood the Sessions rules in advance could see the Marks threshold coming months before the snapshot.

The 8% reserved for future airdrops is the main open question. The official post says it is earmarked, but also that timing would be announced later, and we found no such announcement. That makes any future drop unconfirmed. Readers who want to follow it should watch the Scroll blog and governance forum, and treat unofficial guesses about eligibility or dates as rumor.
