What qualified participants did
- Checked eligibility on the official claim portal at claim.monad.xyz during the claim period.
- Connected an EVM wallet and linked web3 social accounts (Discord, Telegram, X) so the portal could match them to an eligible account.
- Qualified through at least one of five tracks: Monad Community, Onchain Users, Crypto Community, Monad Builders, or Crypto Contributors and Crypto Curious.
- Claimed before the window closed on November 3, 2025; claimed tokens moved to an escrow contract and were released to wallets at mainnet launch.
- Anyone who missed the window has no open claim: Monad states unclaimed tokens were reallocated to Ecosystem Development.
Where things stand
The MON airdrop is finished. According to Monad's own results post, the claim ran through the MON Claim Portal from October 14, 2025 to November 3, 2025. Claimed tokens were moved into an escrow smart contract on November 9, 2025 and released to claimer wallets on November 24, 2025, when Monad Public Mainnet launched. There is no open claim today, and nothing a new wallet can do now to receive the airdrop allocation.
MON is now an actively traded token. Monad's blog announced on October 5, 2026 that MON trading is live on Robinhood, describing MON as the native token of the Monad network. The project also publishes a tokenomics overview that lists an initial supply of 100 billion MON, with roughly 3.3% allocated to the airdrop, up to 7.5% to a public sale run through Coinbase's token sales platform, and the largest share, about 38.5%, to Ecosystem Development.
Of the 4.73 billion MON made available, 3.33 billion (about 70.4%) was claimed. Monad says the unclaimed remainder was reallocated to future Ecosystem Development initiatives, so late claims are not being processed.
How eligibility worked
Monad divided eligible accounts into five tracks, each with subtracks. Monad Community covered people nominated or vouched for by the existing community (5,935 accounts). Onchain Users, the largest track at 229,433 accounts, was aimed at power DeFi users and long-term holders of major NFTs. Crypto Community included recipients of Monad Cards, with per-wave amounts of 88,888, 38,888 and 18,888 MON. Monad Builders covered team members of Monad-native projects and developers who took part in Blitzes and Missions. Crypto Contributors and Crypto Curious covered public-goods contributors such as Cantina auditors, Protocol Guild and SEAL 911 members, plus education groups. Accounts qualifying through several subtracks received the combined allocation.
The results post does not list testnet usage as a criterion. The tracks it describes rest on onchain history, community nomination, builder participation and public-goods contribution, so activity alone on a test network was not a stated route to an allocation.
Sybil resistance combined several methods. Monad cites analysis of onchain and offchain data, including social data from Discord, Telegram and X; the Recognizer App, where community members nominated others; and manual review by the Monad Community team over several months. A vouching system opened in the first week of claims and raised the Monad Community count. Identifiers linked to project team members were disqualified, and full-time team members were barred from claiming. Claimer wallets were also screened against US, EU and UN sanctions lists, and the portal geo-blocked several jurisdictions including Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria.
- Claim period: October 14 to November 3, 2025
- Wallet type: EVM wallet plus linked social accounts
- Unclaimed tokens: reallocated to Ecosystem Development
Security notes
Airdrop claims attract imitation sites. The only claim portal Monad has pointed to is claim.monad.xyz, and the claim period is over, so any page today offering a MON claim, a bonus claim or an eligibility recheck should be treated as hostile. Never enter a seed phrase or recovery phrase on any site; a genuine claim only ever asks you to connect a wallet and sign a message.
Because MON now trades, scammers have shifted to fake token-migration, fake staking and fake support-desk messages. Verify links against monad.xyz and the project's official social accounts, and do not approve token allowances you do not recognise.
What to take from this drop
The Monad distribution shows how a project with a large public following handled Sybil pressure: it weighted human judgement (nominations, vouching, manual review) alongside data analysis, and it excluded its own staff. For participants, the practical lesson is that early, visible involvement in a community and genuine onchain history counted for more than volume of testnet transactions.
It also shows that claim windows are short and final. Roughly three in ten allocated tokens were never claimed, and the project reallocated them. Treat any confirmed claim window as a hard deadline, and keep a wallet and social accounts accessible in case a future programme from the same team asks for them.

Monad airdrop questions

How was Monad airdrop eligibility decided?
Accounts qualified through five tracks: Monad Community, Onchain Users, Crypto Community, Monad Builders, and Crypto Contributors and Crypto Curious. Monad used onchain and offchain data analysis, community nominations, a vouching system and manual review, and excluded full-time team members.
When could claimers access their MON tokens?
Claimed tokens were held in an escrow contract from November 9, 2025 and released to claimer wallets on November 24, 2025, at Monad Public Mainnet launch.
