What qualified participants did
- Used Hyperliquid (perpetuals or spot) before the genesis event, which is the activity record the allocation was reported to be based on
- Connected the wallet used for that activity during the genesis event so the allocation could be assigned to it
- Kept HYPE in HyperCore to stake it to a validator if holding long term (delegation lockup is one day, unstaking takes seven)
- Checked only the official app and the Hyper Foundation website for anything claimed to be a new distribution
Where things stand
Hyperliquid is a layer-1 blockchain with a built-in order book for perpetual futures and spot trading. Its native token, HYPE, has a maximum supply of 1 billion according to the project website, and it is used for staking, governance, gas fees, trading fee discounts and asset deployment fees. The token has been live since the genesis event, so the question for a reader today is no longer whether an airdrop will happen but whether another one is planned.
In the official sources we could open, there is no announced second distribution, no open claim page and no published deadline. The Hyper Foundation website describes the project as having no investors, no paid market makers and no fees to any company. Reputable outlets reported at the time that the Foundation allocated 31% of supply to users at genesis, with the rest reserved for future emissions and community rewards, core contributors and the Foundation. We could not open the original Foundation post, so those percentages are attributed to that reporting and not to a first-party page.
For that reason we list Hyperliquid as ended. Any website, direct message or social post that claims HYPE is claimable today, or asks you to connect a wallet to "verify" an allocation, should be treated as suspect until it is confirmed on the official app domain or the Foundation site.
How eligibility worked
Press coverage of the Foundation announcement described the genesis allocation as going to eligible users based on their earlier activity on the platform. The Foundation also published Genesis Event Terms and Conditions on its website, which state that participating, including connecting a wallet under the described process, means accepting those terms. We were not able to retrieve a first-party document that lists the exact scoring method or weights, so we do not reproduce or guess them here.
The terms make clear that participation was at the participant's own risk, that the Foundation gives no advice about the tokens, and that sanctioned persons are not permitted to use the services. Beyond that, the official pages we opened say nothing about testnet tasks, social-media tasks or a published Sybil policy, and we will not infer one.
- Eligibility was based on wallet activity on Hyperliquid before the event.
- Wallet connection and acceptance of the Genesis Event terms were part of receiving tokens.
- Sybil handling was not described in detail in any first-party page we could open.
What participants did and what changed afterwards
Recipients who held HYPE could use it in several ways documented by the project. Staking happens inside HyperCore: HYPE moves from the spot account to a staking account and is delegated to a validator. The docs state a one-day lockup on each delegation, a seven-day unstaking queue back to spot, and a reward rate that falls as total staked HYPE rises (about 2.37% a year at 400 million staked, with rewards drawn from the future emissions reserve). These are mechanics, not a promise of return, and the rate changes with participation.
The project also states that 99% of protocol revenue goes to an Assistance Fund that buys HYPE, which is part of how the token is designed to relate to platform usage. Whether that matters for a given reader is a personal judgement we do not make for you.
Risks remain even after an airdrop is over. Leverage on perpetuals can liquidate a position quickly, validators can underperform, and token prices move independently of any distribution. None of the official pages we opened guarantee any outcome.
What to take from this drop
The Hyperliquid genesis event is frequently cited as a template for retroactive distributions: no private investor allocation, a large share of supply to users, and recipient tokens unlocked at launch, according to reports of the announcement. The practical lesson is that genuine early use of a product can be rewarded without any advertised points deadline, so reading a project's docs and terms early is worth the time.
The second lesson is about security. Airdrop claim pages are the most common vector for wallet-draining sites. Never share your seed phrase, never sign an approval you do not understand, and navigate to the official app by typing the address or using the link from the Foundation site, not from a search ad or a message. If a page asks for your seed phrase, it is fraudulent.
Finally, check dates. Because the distribution is over, anything presented as a current Hyperliquid airdrop should be traced back to an official announcement before you act. We will update this page if the project publishes new information.

Hyperliquid airdrop questions
Is the Hyperliquid airdrop still open?
No. The HYPE genesis distribution is complete, and the official pages we could open list no new airdrop, claim page or deadline.
How do I check Hyperliquid airdrop eligibility?
There is no live eligibility checker listed on the official pages we could open. Treat any site that offers one as unverified and use only the official Hyperliquid app and the Hyper Foundation website.
Did Hyperliquid give tokens to investors?
The Hyper Foundation website states the project has no investors and no paid market makers. Reports of the genesis announcement likewise listed no private investor allocation.
