What qualified participants did

  1. Used the Artio or bArtio testnets, with allocation based on interactions such as minting HONEY, delegating BGT or posting reward vault incentives.
  2. Deposited capital in the Boyco launch program, directly or through a pre-deposit vault.
  3. Posted constructive commentary about Berachain on X or took part in the Berachain or Bong Bears NFT Discords.
  4. Held one of the listed ecosystem NFTs at the January 2025 snapshot, or held a Bong Bears NFT and bridged it to Berachain to claim.
  5. Checked the allocation on the official airdrop checker and claimed on a berachain.com domain only.

Where things stand

We classify the Berachain airdrop as ended, with a caveat. The official overview was published on 5 February 2025 and said that testnet, grant, social and several other allocations would be claimable by 10 February. It did not publish a closing date for every category. The checker page named in that post could not be opened when we tried, so we could not confirm whether any category, such as unclaimed Bong Bears allocations, remains open today.

The overview puts the airdrop at 15.75% of the BERA supply. Berachain documentation lists 79,000,000 BERA, which it describes as 15.8% of a 500,000,000 genesis supply, and says airdropped tokens follow the same vesting schedule as other allocated parties: a one-year cliff, one sixth unlocked after the cliff, and the rest linearly over the following 24 months. The overview says that Bong Bears holders received a launch unlock for part of their allocation, which is a separate schedule.

The Berachain token model has changed since the airdrop. Search results for the current documentation refer to a May 2026 upgrade to the Proof of Liquidity design, so any guidance written for the launch period may no longer match how the network works. Nothing on that point affects the airdrop terms themselves.

How eligibility worked

The airdrop was split into categories. Testnet users received 8,250,000 BERA (1.65%) based on interactions with native and ecosystem apps across the Artio and bArtio testnets. The Request for Brobosal program, which covered grants to app teams and community groups, received 11,730,000 BERA (2.35%), and recipients associated a wallet with their X account to claim. Boyco, a launch program that gathered deposits from Ethereum, received 10,000,000 BERA (2%), unlocking 30 or 90 days after launch depending on the market a user chose. The post states Boyco drew 150,000 depositors across more than 100 markets.

Smaller categories covered community behavior. The Social Airdrop, 1,250,000 BERA, was scored from a composite of engagement data from Kaito AI and Cookie3, with organization accounts and team members removed. Ecosystem NFT holders shared 1,250,000 BERA across 80 collections, scored on floor value and trading volume. The largest single category was the Bong Bears NFTs and their rebases at 34,500,000 BERA (6.9%), claimable only after bridging the NFT to Berachain, and tied to the NFT itself rather than to an account or snapshot.

The overview does not describe an explicit Sybil-detection method for the testnet allocation, so we do not describe one. The social scoring used third-party engagement indices and manual removal of organization accounts, while NFT allocations were tied to the asset. Those are asset-based or score-based filters, not identity checks.

  • Testnet users: 8,250,000 BERA (1.65%).
  • Request for Brobosal: 11,730,000 BERA (2.35%).
  • Boyco: 10,000,000 BERA (2%), unlocking 30 or 90 days after launch.
  • Bong Bears and rebases: 34,500,000 BERA (6.9%), claimable after bridging the NFT.

Risks and red flags

The Berachain team told the community to check that any web page related to the project is on a berachain.com domain, and said that community moderators will never message you first or ask for personal information. A direct message offering help with a claim is therefore a scam by the project own description.

The NFT bridge deserves particular care. The overview says the Bong Bears allocation follows the NFT, and the search material we saw describes the bridge as one-way. Before bridging an NFT, confirm the bridge address from the Berachain documentation, and never approve a request that asks for a seed phrase. A wrong approval on a valuable NFT cannot be reversed.

What to take from this drop

Berachain rewarded a wide set of behaviors: running testnet transactions, building apps, depositing capital in a launch program, taking part in the community and holding NFTs. Participants who qualified through testnet activity did so months before any token existed, which fits a pattern of retroactive rewards for early use rather than for last-minute activity.

It also shows how vesting and unlock rules change the real value of an airdrop. The same allocation could be fully liquid at launch for some groups, locked behind a cliff for others, or released 30 to 90 days later through Boyco. Reading the schedule before counting on a number matters as much as qualifying in the first place.

Berachain airdrop questions

Is the Berachain airdrop still open?

We could not confirm that. The official overview set Request for Brobosal and Social claims by 10 February 2025 and gave no end date for other categories. The checker was not reachable when we tried.

How was Berachain airdrop eligibility decided?

It depended on the category: testnet activity, grants, Boyco deposits, social engagement scores, ecosystem NFT holdings, or holding a Bong Bears NFT and bridging it to Berachain.

How much of the BERA supply was airdropped?

The official overview says 15.75% of supply. Berachain docs list 79,000,000 BERA, or 15.8% of the 500,000,000 genesis supply.
