What qualified participants did
- Earned Yaps by posting on X about crypto projects tracked by Kaito before the snapshot.
- Held a Genesis NFT or took part as an ecosystem partner, which were separate qualifying groups.
- Checked eligibility and claimed on the official Kaito site on Base when claims opened.
- For later campaigns: staked KAITO, registered on the airdrops page and held at least 5,000 KAITO equivalent in sKAITO or YT each day of the campaign.
Where things stand
Kaito is an InfoFi platform that scores attention on crypto topics, and the KAITO token launched in February 2025. The first airdrop, called the Initial Community and Ecosystem Claim in the tokenomics documentation, covered 10% of the 1 billion supply. That claim opened on Base on 20 February 2025, according to The Block, and has long since finished.
The official site now has an Airdrops page for a different mechanism. It states that users must hold at least 5,000 KAITO equivalent in sKAITO or YT every day of a campaign, register, stay eligible throughout and then claim. We could see that the page exists, but the logged-out view did not show whether a registration window is open, so we have not marked any campaign as active.
The docs also describe the 30-day claim period for the initial drop and say a share set aside for AI agents would be decided by governance vote afterwards. We did not find the outcome of that vote on the pages we opened.
How eligibility worked
For the initial claim, the tokenomics page lists three groups: the original Kaito Yapper community, Genesis NFT holders and ecosystem partners. Recipients were scored on factors the docs describe as Kaito value alignment, long-term loyalty and onchain reputation. Yaps, the platform's attention points, were recorded before launch, and The Block reported a snapshot on 17 February 2025.
The scoring weighed the quality and consistency of posts rather than only the volume, since an engagement-only metric invites farming. We did not find an official document describing the exact Sybil filters, so we do not describe them. Public criticism at the time focused on the late publication of the tokenomics, which left participants unable to see the rules while they were still earning Yaps.
For later campaigns the rule is mechanical. Your share is your weight divided by the total weight of eligible participants, where weight is time-weighted yield on KAITO equivalent, increased by a loyalty multiplier of up to 1.5x, a 1.1x multiplier for Yapybara holders and a comeback multiplier after missed drops. The conditions can change between campaigns, so read the page at the time you take part.
- Initial claim groups: Yappers, Genesis NFT holders, ecosystem partners.
- Staker campaigns: 5,000 KAITO equivalent held daily, plus registration.
- Eligibility status is shown after logging in on the official site.
Risks and red flags
Staking-based campaigns require you to lock tokens, so the main risk is price movement while the tokens are staked, along with any lock or unstaking period the product has. We have not reviewed those terms in detail, so read them before staking and do not stake money you may need soon.
Impersonation is the second risk. Fake claim sites and fake X accounts use the Kaito name and ask you to connect a wallet or sign a message. Go to kaito.ai directly, check the address bar, and never share a seed phrase. A real claim never asks for one.
Social farming has a cost as well. Heavy posting to chase points can lead to account restrictions on X, and scoring rules can change. Do not depend on a points total for a reward that has not been officially published.
What to take from this drop
The Kaito drop rewarded sustained, relevant participation instead of a single action. That makes it harder to farm and also harder to reverse-engineer, which is why participants who gamed volume often did poorly compared with their expectations.
It also shows a shift from one-off retroactive airdrops to recurring, staking-linked distributions. The entry cost moves from time spent posting to capital held, and the reward depends on how long you hold and how many others are eligible.
Treat the airdrops page as the source of truth for any current campaign, check the deadline there, and leave the decision to take part to your own risk tolerance. This site does not give financial advice.

Kaito airdrop questions
Is the Kaito airdrop still open?
The initial Yapper claim opened in February 2025 and is finished. The official site lists a staker airdrop programme, but we could not confirm from the logged-out page whether registration is open now.
How do I check Kaito airdrop eligibility?
Log in on kaito.ai/airdrops, which shows whether registration is open, whether you are registered, ready to claim or not eligible. Only use the official domain.
What do I need for the Kaito staker airdrop?
The official page says you must hold at least 5,000 KAITO equivalent in sKAITO or YT every day of the campaign, register and then claim. Weight also depends on multipliers.
