What to do, in order

  1. Step 1

Do not expect a claim to be open: the Jupuary distribution is postponed and no eligibility checker has been announced.

  2. Step 2

Keep using Jupiter only for its own utility, since the usage snapshot is already taken and later activity is not known to count.

  3. Step 3

Follow the Jupiter research forum (discuss.jup.ag) and the DAO voting site for any new proposal that would release the postponed tokens.

  4. Step 4

If you stake JUP, note that Active Staking Rewards (ASR) are a separate program from Jupuary; the proposal says stakers stay eligible for ASR regardless of the vote.

  5. Step 5

Treat any site offering a Jupuary claim as a likely phishing page and never connect a wallet to it.

Where things stand

Jupiter is a Solana DEX aggregator, and its annual "Jupuary" airdrop was meant to deliver JUP to users and stakers each January. The first edition distributed one billion JUP, according to the team FAQ. A second round followed, and the DAO approved a final round for 2026 in an earlier series of votes.

In February 2026 the team put a "Net-Zero Emissions" proposal to a DAO vote. It offered two options: continue with Jupuary, or postpone it, stop team emissions for the foreseeable future and offset sales by Mercurial stakeholders. Forum threads written after the vote describe the outcome as an indefinite postponement of the airdrop, and a later community thread says the DAO agreed in 2025 to hold one last Jupuary but the latest vote postponed it.

As of the sources reviewed, no new vote, checker or claim date has been published. The thread titled "Jupuary 2026 - JUP back on track" (May 2026) is a community request to finish the airdrop, not an official announcement. For that reason this page is marked as a snapshot-taken project: the usage and stake record exists, but nothing can be claimed today.

How eligibility works

The official proposal describes the planned 2026 structure. If the DAO had chosen to continue, the Jupuary checker would have been released about a week after the vote, and the airdrop would have started roughly two weeks later with a 200M JUP initial distribution. A 200M bonus pool and 300M of Jupnet incentives were also part of the original plan. Those figures come from the proposal text, not from a finished distribution.

The proposal and FAQ say the snapshot of usage and stake is kept if the airdrop is postponed, and that the 700M tokens move to the Community Cold Multisig, where they cannot be spent without a future DAO vote. The team describes Jupuary as designed to deliver more governance power to the most loyal users and stakers. A detailed per-wallet formula for 2026 was not published in the posts reviewed, so this page does not state one.

Jupiter has not published how it filtered Sybil wallets for the 2026 round. Past rounds are discussed in earlier community analysis, but those are not first-party documents and are not relied on here.

  • Planned initial distribution: 200M JUP.
  • Planned bonus pool: 200M JUP, and Jupnet incentives: 300M JUP.
  • Snapshot retained, tokens held in the Community Cold Multisig.
  • Any release requires a new DAO vote.

Risks and red flags

Whenever an airdrop is delayed, scammers fill the gap with fake "Jupuary claim" pages and wallet-drainer links. The project has not opened a claim, so any page that asks you to connect a wallet and sign a transaction to receive Jupuary tokens should be treated as hostile. Use only the official jup.ag domain, type it yourself, and never share a seed phrase or private key with anyone.

There is also a governance risk. The forum shows that many users feel the postponement changed the rules after they had already used the product, and the team itself acknowledged that the communication was not ideal. A postponed distribution can be released later, reduced or cancelled by another vote. Nothing published guarantees an amount or date, so planning financial decisions around it carries real uncertainty.

Separate from Jupuary, the staking program has Active Staking Rewards (ASR), and the proposal states stakers remain eligible for them regardless of the vote. Do not confuse the two: ASR is paid under its own rules and does not mean the airdrop has been released.

What to take from this drop

The Jupiter case shows that a retroactive reward approved by a DAO is still conditional on later governance. The 2024 vote that created the yearly airdrop was reopened in 2026, with the team arguing that fewer than 29 percent of stakers had voted in the original decision and that market conditions had changed. Whether or not you agree, participants should read an airdrop as an intention, not a contract.

It is also a reminder that activity done mainly to farm a distribution can end up with no payout on the expected schedule. The usage that Jupiter intended to reward, trading and paying fees on the aggregator, has value only if you would have used the product anyway.

Practically: keep records of your wallet activity, ignore unsolicited claim links, follow only the research forum and official site for updates, and do not treat third-party "estimated allocation" tools as authoritative. If the DAO later schedules a release, it will be published through the proposal process, not through private messages.

Jupiter airdrop questions

Is the Jupiter Jupuary airdrop still open?

No. After a DAO vote in February 2026 the Jupuary distribution was postponed indefinitely. The sources reviewed show no claim window, checker or new vote.

How do I check Jupiter airdrop eligibility?

There is no official eligibility checker for the 2026 round. The team says the usage and stake snapshot is preserved, so be cautious of any site claiming to show your allocation.

How many JUP tokens were planned for Jupuary 2026?

The proposal text lists 700M JUP prepared, with a planned 200M initial distribution, a 200M bonus pool and 300M for Jupnet incentives. Those tokens are now held in the Community Cold Multisig pending a future vote.
