What to do, in order
-
Step 1
Use margin-enabled apps built on DeepBook, since the Sui announcement says activity there is tracked automatically for points
-
Step 2
Trade or interact on-chain through those apps during the points season; there is no sign-up or task list
-
Step 3
Optionally trade directly in the DeepBook app at app.deepbook.xyz, which is rolling out through early access
-
Step 4
Watch the official DeepBook X account and Sui blog for points updates, since the old points page is no longer online
Where things stand
DeepBook is a fully on-chain central limit order book on Sui, developed in the Sui ecosystem and used as shared liquidity by other apps. Its DEEP token already exists and trades, and the DeepBook site shows a running count of DEEP burned from trading fees. The site and FAQ now also cover a DeepBook app with spot trading and a Predict product, rolling out through early access since 3 September.
The airdrop angle today is a points program. On 22 January 2026 the Sui blog introduced DeepBook Margin, a layer that lets apps offer on-chain margin trading on top of DeepBook liquidity, and said a points season would reward people who use margin-enabled apps, interact on-chain and stay active. Activity is tracked automatically.
We could not confirm the current state of that season. A dedicated points page on the old deepbook.tech domain now redirects to the main site, and the current DeepBook site and FAQ do not mention points. No conversion of points into DEEP or any other reward has been announced. We therefore list DeepBook as potential and treat the points season as unconfirmed beyond its announcement.
How the points and the earlier airdrop worked
According to the Sui announcement, there was nothing to register for: using margin-enabled apps powered by DeepBook, trading and interacting on-chain during the season, and remaining active as more apps launched were the ways to earn. The post does not list the formula, the apps included, the season dates or what points are worth, and we have not found an official page that does.
DeepBook also has a completed airdrop. A Sui blog post from April 2024 explains that a non-transferable NFT called DBClaimNFT was sent to qualified wallets on 28 March 2024. The NFT could not be transferred, swapped or sold, and after DEEP launched, holders could unwrap it into liquid DEEP. The post stressed that losing a wallet key meant losing the claim.
That earlier drop shows how DeepBook has handled a distribution before, but it is not evidence that points will be converted the same way.
For context on the token itself, the 2024 launch post lists four roles for DEEP: trading fees that fall as a trader's activity in a pool grows, extra DEEP incentives for makers, a minimum stake to unlock discounted fees and maker incentives, and stake-based governance over each pool's fee and incentive settings. All DEEP was minted at the token generation event, with no further minting possible.
- Points: announced with DeepBook Margin, tracked automatically, no published conversion.
- DBClaimNFT airdrop: sent 28 March 2024, soulbound, unwrappable into DEEP.
- DEEP: live token used for fee discounts, maker rebates and governance.
Costs and risks
Margin trading means borrowing, and a price move against a leveraged position can trigger liquidation. The Sui announcement describes isolated margin pools and real-time liquidation engines. It also says asset holders can supply margin pools to earn returns, which exposes them to losses if borrowers are not liquidated in time. None of this is offset by points that have no announced value.
Margin-enabled apps built on DeepBook are separate products with their own contracts, teams and risks. Check each one independently before depositing, and do not assume that being integrated with DeepBook makes an app safe.
Because DEEP is a live token and DeepBook has run an airdrop before, scammers can easily create fake "DeepBook points claim" pages. Use only deepbook.xyz, app.deepbook.xyz and the official Sui channels, never share a seed phrase, and use a separate wallet for experimental apps. The FAQ also notes that Predict is not available to US users.
What to take from this drop
DeepBook is an established Sui protocol with a live token and a past airdrop, which makes its points program worth knowing about. The problem is that the official information is thin: one announcement, no published rules and no current points page.
If you already use margin-enabled Sui apps, any points you earn are a possible extra. If you would only trade with leverage to farm points, the unknown value and the liquidation risk make that a poor trade-off.
We will update this page if DeepBook publishes points rules, a season end date or a reward for points holders.

DeepBook airdrop questions
Is there a DeepBook points airdrop?
No. A points season was announced with DeepBook Margin in January 2026, but no airdrop or conversion of points has been announced in official sources we opened.
How do I earn DeepBook points?
The Sui announcement says points go to people who use margin-enabled apps powered by DeepBook and trade or interact on-chain during the season, with activity tracked automatically.
Did DeepBook have an earlier airdrop?
Yes. On 28 March 2024 qualified users received a non-transferable DBClaimNFT that could be unwrapped into DEEP after the token launched.
