What to do, in order
-
Step 1
Get access to Omni mainnet, which the docs describe as a private beta that needs an access code
-
Step 2
Connect an EVM wallet and deposit USDC on Arbitrum (deposits and withdrawals are gasless, with a flat 0.1 USDC fee)
-
Step 3
Trade on Omni; points are distributed every Friday at 00:00 UTC for the previous week of platform activity
-
Step 4
Maintain a reward tier by 30-day volume for a small points boost, from +0.5% at Bronze to +5% at Infinity
-
Step 5
Track points on the Omni points page and watch official channels for the snapshot and terms
Where things stand
Variational is a peer-to-peer derivatives protocol whose main product, Omni, offers perpetual contracts on crypto and traditional markets with zero fees and up to 50x leverage, according to its docs. Omni is deployed on Arbitrum and uses USDC for deposits. The docs currently describe the mainnet app as a private beta that requires an access code, which can be found in the Variational Discord or on the project's X account.
The official $VAR page states that the token will launch in Q4 2026. At launch, supply is split into three buckets: a 32% Genesis Distribution airdropped proportionally to points holdings and fully unlocked at launch, an 18% Ecosystem Reserve held by the Variational Foundation, and a 50% bucket for team and investors, locked for 12 months after launch and then unlocking over at least three years. The team and investor split will be shared before launch, according to the docs.
What is not published: a snapshot date, an exact launch date, a points-to-token ratio or the total number of points that will exist. Because points distributions are scheduled to conclude no later than the end of Q4 2026, the window to earn more points is time-limited, but the end date should be confirmed from official channels. This page reflects what the docs say as of the verification date.
How eligibility works
Eligibility is based on the Omni points program, which was launched on December 17, 2025. At launch, 3,000,000 points were retroactively distributed to existing traders based on a mix of activity metrics through December 11. After that, points are distributed every Friday at 00:00 UTC for activity through 00:00 UTC on the previous Thursday. Accounts that traded before the program launched get a 10% boost to points earned.
Reward tiers are calculated from the account's past 30 days of activity. Each tier has a 30-day volume requirement and carries a points boost: Iron +0%, Bronze +0.5% from $1M volume, Silver +1% from $5M, Gold +2% from $25M, Platinum +3% from $100M, Diamond +4% from $750M and Infinity +5% from $2.5B. The boosts are small, so the weekly volume itself matters more than tier chasing, but the docs do not disclose the full formula for how activity converts to points.
On Sybil filtering, the docs say Variational reserves the right to modify the program or point totals at its sole discretion, for example for inorganic behaviour or violations of its Terms of Use. No detection method is published.
- Points are issued weekly based on platform activity.
- A $VAR share is proportional to points held, per the official token page.
- The program can be modified and totals adjusted for inorganic behaviour.
Risks and red flags
Trading perpetuals at high leverage can lead to liquidation, and trading volume generated purely to chase points can cost more in spread and funding than it earns. The docs state that rewards are a work in progress and that not every planned reward has been implemented. Points have no confirmed token conversion rate.
Be careful with the access-code step: codes are shared in community channels, so impersonators can post fake codes or fake apps. Use only the official links the docs list, and never share your seed phrase or approve a transaction you do not understand. A legitimate eligibility check for $VAR will not need your seed phrase. Any site claiming that $VAR is claimable today should be treated as fraudulent, since the token has not launched according to the official docs.
The Terms of Use also exclude restricted persons and restricted jurisdictions, so check eligibility to use the service in your location before depositing funds.
What to take from this drop
Variational is one of the few projects in this group where the token is officially confirmed, the allocation to points holders is stated and the points program is still running. That makes it more concrete than a speculative farm, though the missing snapshot date and points-to-token ratio mean the value of any given point cannot be estimated from official information.
A sensible approach is to treat points as a possible bonus on top of a trading venue you would use anyway, check the docs and the official X account for updates on mainnet access, the snapshot and the $VAR terms, and keep position sizes you can afford to lose. Do not rely on third-party estimates of airdrop value.
We will update this page when Variational publishes the snapshot, the launch date or the claim process.

Variational airdrop questions
Is there a Variational airdrop?
The official $VAR page states that the token will launch in Q4 2026 and that 32% of supply is a Genesis Distribution airdropped proportionally to points holdings, fully unlocked at launch.
When is the Variational snapshot?
No snapshot date is published in the official docs we opened. Weekly points distributions are stated to conclude no later than the end of Q4 2026.
How do I check my Variational points?
Points totals can be tracked on the Omni points page at omni.variational.io/points, which the docs link to. Use only that official address.
